Discord bots
Selling a bot means selling to servers, not to people.
One customer, twelve guilds. Or one customer who paid, and four friends who did not. Licensing a bot is a different shape from licensing an app, and most tools do not have that shape.
The part nobody warns you about
You are not afraid of writing the bot. You are afraid of the first time somebody asks what they get for the money, and you have no answer that sounds like a product. So you keep it free, and it stays a hobby that costs you hosting.
What Bloom does about it
A guild is a machine
Send the guild id as the hardware id and a license locks to one server. The same key somewhere else is refused, and you can see exactly where it is in use.
A store inside your own server
Your members see your products where they already are. Nobody has to be told about a website first.
Run it from Discord
Issue a license, look one up, create a product, all as slash commands. You are already in the window.
Told when it matters
Webhooks for sales, activations and refusals, signed so you can check they came from us. Point them at a channel and watch it happen.
The model that fits
License key in config
A bot has an environment file already. One more variable is the whole integration.
You deliver a license key to each customer (by purchase, email, or login). The app validates the key against Bloom Cloud and activates it on their machine. Simplest for products that already sell keys.
The integration is one HTTPS call, and the panel hands you the code for it in JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, C# or PHP. There is nothing to install.
What people ask
- Can one customer use it in several servers?
- Yes, if you want that. Omit the guild id and the license is not locked to anything, or issue one license per server and charge accordingly.
- How do I stop somebody sharing the token?
- Validate per guild rather than per token. A shared token in an unlicensed server refuses to work, and you can see which guild tried.
- Do I need to use the Bloom bot?
- No. The bot is a second way into the same account, not a requirement. Everything it does is on the website too.
Something else on your mind?
Ask before you sign up. It reaches a person, and you get an answer by email.
Ask usWhat Bloom does not do here
Bloom does not host your bot or run it for you: it licenses what your bot already does. The Bloom bot in your server issues and looks up licenses; it does not moderate, and it is not a framework for the bot you are selling.
Bloom does not care what it is
The same account, the same call, whatever you happen to have built.
